Strengthening Adult Community Education

Co-designing a strengthened ACE program for 2018-19 and beyond

The Adult Community Education (ACE) program helps people to improve their foundation skills including reading, writing, numeracy, digital literacy and employability, in welcoming community settings.

The Department of State Development is co-designing a strengthened ACE program for 2018-19 and beyond, together with Community Centres SA.

The Strengthening ACE project has to date included:

  • preliminary engagement with over 150 people (including 52 ACE participants) representing 67 different organisations involved in the ACE sector
  • co-design of an ACE Program Statement with Community Centres SA and DCSI, in response to ideas and feedback received
  • consultation on the draft ACE Program Statement with stakeholders.

The ACE Program Statement will be launched by the Minister for Higher Education and Skills, the Hon Susan Close MP, on 13 September 2017.

For more information about the program see Adult Community Education.
